Warriors out-gained 409 yards to 143.

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University football squad (1-3 overall) began its four-game home stand with a 41-7 setback to 28th-ranked Truman State University (4-0 overall) Saturday afternoon at Tom Adams Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
WSU sophomore Manny Harris (Kanakee, Ill. / Bishop McNamara) had a 26-yard kickoff return to start the game but fumbled with TSU's Jake Closser recovering at the Warriors 36.  It took the Bulldogs six plays to cover 36 yards with quarterback Nolan Hair completing a 14-yard scoring toss to running back Mason Huskey on a second-and-12.

After a three-and-out by the Wayne State offense, junior Jeremy Taras (Macomb, Mich. / Henry Ford II) had his punt blocked by Nathan Ryan with Connor Baxley recovering at the WSU 12-yard line.  Four plays later Truman State led 14-0 following a three-yard keeper by Nolan Hair.

Following a WSU punt, TSU went 29 yards in eight plays culminating in a 43-yard field by Grant Ross for a 17-0 advantage with 76 seconds left in the opening stanza.

Second Quarter
The Warriors ensuing possession which began late in the first quarter, concluded with another Taras punt.

The Bulldogs increased their margin to 24-0 with six-play, 77-yard touchdown drive with Huskey plunging in from three yards out.

Wayne State put together a nine-play, 37-yard drive but junior Griffin Milovanski (Saugatuck, Mich.) had his 42-yard field goal attempt go wide left.

Truman used the final 5:56 of the first half completing a 12-play, 67-yard drive with a 26-yard field goal by Ross to lead 27-0 at intermission.

Third Quarter
The WSU defense forced a three-and-out to start the second half, and the Warrior offense responded with a nine-play, 75 yard touchdown drive which concluded on a one-yard plunge by senior running back Kendall Williams (Farmington Hills, Mich. / Farmington) for his 10th career rushing touchdown.

TSU answered back with a four-play, 75-yard touchdown drive as Huskey went 63 yards to put the Bulldogs ahead 34-7 with 6:14 left in the third period.

Wayne State offense garnered one first down, but Taras had to punt.

Fourth Quarter
The Truman State drive carried over into the final stanza with Tim Johnson scoring on a one-yard run with 8:49 remaining to complete the scoring.

WSU had one first down before punting for the fifth time, and TSU ran 10 plays to run out the clock.
