Two Women's Basketball Standouts Earn All-GLIAC Recognition

Tripp voted to First Team, and Lutchka selected to the Second Team.

DETROIT -- Two members of the Wayne State University women's basketball squad were named to All-GLIAC teams as announced by the league office earlier today.

Junior forward Shea Tripp (Jackson, Mich. / Michigan Center) was voted to the All-GLIAC First Team, while sophomore forward Gabi Lutchka (Grass Lake, Mich.) was selected to the All-GLIAC Second Team.

During GLIAC play, Tripp led the conference with 41 steals, placed fifth in offensive rebounds (38), and was sixth in assists (58), defensive rebounds (82) and total rebounds (120).  She finished seventh in both rebounds per game (6.7) and field goals made (93), and eighth in both points (241) and points per game (13.4).  In addition, Tripp was 10th in free throws made (48), and 11th in field goal percentage (.479) and points per 40 minutes (19.1).  Tripp was a Second Team All-GLIAC honoree a season ago, as well as being named to the 2023-24 Preseason All-GLIAC Second Team.

Lutchka, who joined the Warriors in January of 2023 but did not score a point last season, finished fourth in the GLIAC with 30 made triples during conference play, while ranking ninth in both points (236) and points per game (13.1).  She ranked 12th in defensive rebounds (72), field goal percentage (.478) three-point field goal percentage (35.3).  Her .379 three-point field goal percentage in all games was fifth among all GLIAC players.

Wayne State had its season come to an end on Wednesday evening with a 51-48 GLIAC Tournament quarterfinal setback at Northern Michigan.  WSU compiled a 16-12 overall record.
