Ferguson Tabbed as GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week

DETROIT -- Wayne State University women's basketball guard McKenna Ferguson (Grandville, Mich. / Byron Center) has been selected as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season as announced by the league office.

Ferguson receives the award after tallying 21 points (7-of-13 FG, 7-of-10 FT) and a pair of assists during the 84-63 win over No. 12-ranked Northern Michigan University this past Thursday and a game-best 19 points (6-of-16 FG, 2-of-7 3PT, 5-of-6 FT) in the 68-67 triumph over Michigan Tech University.  She contributed four boards and a steal against NMU, while posting three steals and six rebounds against the Huskies.

In the first quarter of the MTU contest, the junior splashed a triple to become the 21st player in program history to eclipse 1,000 career points.

The women's hoops team will travel to Chicago, Ill., to face GLIAC foe Roosevelt on Thursday, February 19.
