GRANVILLE, Ohio -- The Wayne State University women's fencing squad finished the team portion of the Central Collegiate Fencing Conference (CCFC) Championships on Saturday at Denison University.
The Warriors finished 3-3 for a fourth overall team finish, with the foil and epee squads earning top-three finishes. WSU collected wins over Lawrence (15-12), Cleveland State (17-9), and Detroit Mercy (19-8), while being bested by Northwestern (19-8), Ohio State (19-8), and Denison (16-11).
WOMEN'S FOIL
Wayne State's women's foil team placed second overall after compiling an impressive 5-1 mark with 33 bout wins, despite having just two competitors for 5-of-6 bouts.

Similar to the foil squad, the women's epee team had two student-athletes compete in a majority of bouts (4-of-6). Despite the short numbers, the epee squad earned a third-place finish after tallying a 5-1 mark with 30 bout wins.
