DETROIT -- The Wayne State University women's basketball team (20-6 overall) is ranked fourth in the second iteration of the NCAA Midwest Regional Rankings.
The Midwest Region consists of member institutions from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC), and the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC).
The third and final regional ranking will be released next Wednesday, March 4, with the selection show to air live at 10:30 PM on Sunday, March 8, on NCAA.com.
The conference tournament winners of the GLIAC, G-MAC, and GLVC will receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, while five squads will earn an at-large bid to the big dance, totaling eight teams.
