Men's Swimming & Diving Concludes Penultimate Day of Action at NCAA Championships

The Warriors earned 39 points towards their overall team score on Friday.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. -- The Wayne State University men's swimming & diving squad completed their fourth and penultimate day of action at the 2026 NCAA Championships on Friday night inside the Deaconess Aquatic Center.  The Warriors competed in four different event finals and earned 39 points towards their overall team score, which was the most for a single day in their national championship run.  WSU sits in 14th out of 28 schools on the men's side with 70 total points heading into the final day of competition on Saturday.

Friday night's action was highlighted by Max Wasiniak (Huron, Ohio), who just two nights prior became the men's diving National Champion on the one-meter board for WSU's first male National Champion in diving since Wayne State Hall of Famer Dylan Szegedi in 2015.  This time, Wasiniak finished in third on the three-meter board with a score of 553.00 to become a six-time All-American (five First Team and one Second Team).
