Cleandre Robinson Named Offensive Line & Tight Ends Coach, And Run-Game Coordinator

DETROIT -- Wayne State University first-year head football coach Terrence Isaac, Sr., has announced the addition of Cleandre Robinson to the coaching staff.  Robinson will serve as offensive line & tight ends coach and run-game coordinator in March of 2026.

"Coach Robinson is a technician that works extremely hard at his craft," remarked Isaac.  "He is a great teacher and motivator."

Robinson comes to Wayne State after spending the last three seasons (2023-24-25) as offensive line/tight ends and running backs coach at Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC).  During his time in Rochester, the Yellowjackets won two MCAC (Minnesota College Athletic Conference) titles as well as an NJCAA Division 3 Region 13 title in 2023.  The 2023 squad advanced to the NJCAA Division 3 national championship game.  Robinson coached nine All-MCAC performers including offensive linemen Jude Etter (two-time First Team honoree) and Jahye Tyler (two-time Second Team recipient).  In addition, running back Kyron Burrough was Second Team All-MCAC in both 2024 and 2025, while Jayden Homuth was a First Team All-MCAC tight end in 2025.

Prior to his time at RCTC, Robinson was the offensive line coach at his alma mater Flint Carman-Ainsworth in 2019, and the defensive line coach the following year, before serving as head coach in 2021 at Madison Academy.

During his collegiate playing career, Robinson was the starting center at Iowa Central Community College in 2015 and appeared in eight games.

After earning an associates degree from ICCC, he earned his bachelor's degree in Communications from Concordia St. Paul, along with a master's degree in Human Resource Management from CSP.  In 2017, he played in five games for the Golden Bears on the offensive line making one start.  The following season he played against Augustana.

A native of Flint, Mich., Robinson graduated from Carman-Ainsworth High School in 2013.  He was a two-sport prep athlete for the Cavaliers competing in both football and track.  In his senior season, FCAHS went 8-1 during the regular season and qualified for the state playoffs for the second straight year.  After his senior season, Robinson played in the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association East-West All-Star game.  He competed at the 2012 MHSAA Division 1 state track and field championships in the discus after a personal-best throw of 145-04 at the regional meet at Bay City Western.  Robinson was the 2013 Saginaw Valley League discus champion.
