Offense Defeats Defense 76-43 In Football Spring Showcase

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University football program, under the direction of first-year head coach Terrence Isaac, held its annual Spring Showcase on Saturday at Tom Adams Field. The offense defeated the defense 76-43.

The Warrior offense was led by Carson Creehan, who completed 18-of-28 passes for 325 yards and five touchdowns including drives starting in the red zone. Miekael Brooker passed for 111 yards and one touchdown.

Six running backs combined for 12 carries for 15 yards. The longest run was 17 yards by Jeremiah Taylor.

Leading the receiving corps was Donovan Isaac with five catches for 74 yards and a touchdown. Drew Hickmott had four receptions for 36 yards and a score, while Joseph Lattimore had a pair of 80-yard touchdown receptions. Malachi Evans had three receptions for 95 yards and a touchdown, with Bishop Thomas hauling in three passes for 43 yards. Mar'Tavion Robinson also had a touchdown reception.

Defensively, Gavin Troy had a fumble recovery on the first play from scrimmage. Numerous tackles were recorded by Torrence Greene, Ryan Spate, Amauri Haller, Dharon Flowers, and Amarion Brownlee. A few of the sacks were credited to Tyler Torey, Creg Johnson and Nahji Mabry.

Anthony Markovski made both of his PAT attempts.

Wayne State will begin the 2026 campaign at home on Thursday, Sept. 3 at 6 PM vs. Northwood.
