Volleyball Signs Four For 2026

Burlingame, Frailey, Mullins and Parrish to become Warriors this fall.

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University volleyball program under the direction of head coach Tim Koth, who will be entering his 13th season with the Warriors this fall, has announced the signing of four student athletes to attend WSU this fall.

Joining the defending GLIAC Tournament and co-Regular Season Champion WSU squad will be libero Giselle Burlingame (Northville, Mich.), outside hitter Skyye Frailey (Sterling Heights, Mich. / Troy Athens), libero Bryn Mullins (Port Huron, Mich.) and setter Abby Parrish (Chesterton, Ind.).

"We look forward to welcoming this group to the Matthaei, and Warrior Volleyball," commented Koth.  "Giselle, Bryn, and Skyye will bring strong pass and defend games, while Abby has the potential to become an elite setter.  They are great people, wonderful students from good families - a perfect fit to the Warrior Family!"

Giselle Burlingame, 5-1, DS/L, Northville, Mich. / Northville
High School:  Will be a 2026 graduate of Northville High School ... was a three-year letterwinner for coach Sarah Schmitt ... helped the Mustangs to the 2024 MHSAA Division 1 state title ... produced a team-high 18 digs in the four-set win over Rockford ... was a member of the NHS squad that made three consecutive state final four appearances (2022-23-24) ... assisted in the Mustangs winning two Kensington Lakes Athletic Association (KLAA) titles, two district titles and two regional championships (squad also won all three titles her freshman campaign) ... received All-District, All-Region and Third Team All-State recognition ... totaled team-leading marks of 385 digs and 36 service aces as a senior in 93 sets ... notched 335 digs in 100 sets as a junior, along with 48 service aces ... recorded 116 digs and 39 service aces as a sophomore ... helped NHS to a 108-21 record in her three seasons on varsity ... served as a team captain as a senior ... named KLAA All-Academic and Scholar-Athlete ... will graduate Summa Cum Laude.

Skyye Frailey, 5-9, OH, Sterling Heights, Mich. / Troy Athens
High School:  Will be a 2026 graduate of Troy Athens High School ... was a three-year letterwinner for coaches Mary Kate Zinn and Kennedy Paulina ... finished prep career with over 1,000 kills ... earned All-Region and All-Oakland Activities Association Blue Division honors ... recorded 283 kills as a sophomore and 278 as a junior ... totaled 64 service aces during first two years on varsity along with over 150 digs per year ... received Academic All-State recognition ... served as a volleyball team captain as a senior ... helped the Red Hawks to a 55-29-2 record during her three years on varsity ... also competed in track and field ... was an Honor Roll student.

High School:  Will be a 2026 graduate of Port Huron High School ... was a four-year letterwinner for coaches Derek Arena and Traci Hoffman ... helped the Red Hawks to three consecutive Macomb Area Conference Blue Division titles and a combined 70-17-1 record over her final three seasons ... earned All-Region and All-MAC recognition ... totaled over 1,000 digs ... was a three-year volleyball team captain ... also competed in basketball and softball ... received the 2025 softball MVP award ... will graduate Summa Cum Laude and as valedictorian ... played in the summer for Crankit Volleyball Club and coach Mike Saier.

Abby Parrish, 5-11, S, Chesterton, Ind. / Chesterton
High School:  Will be a 2026 graduate of Chesterton High School ... was a four-year letterwinner for coaches Lindsay Nibert and Cathy Dilbeck ... helped the Trojans to the 2025 Duneland Athletic Conference (DAC) title ... aided in CHS winning back-to-back sectional titles in 2024 and 2025 ... set the school career assist record at 1,884 ... played in 380 sets during prep career totaling 695 digs, 246 kills, 142 service aces and 124 blocks (11 solo, 113 assisted) ... earned All-DAC recognition as a senior ... selected team MVP as a junior ... was a two-year team captain ... received Academic All-State honors in 2025.

Personal:  Full name -- Abigail R. Parrish ... born on June 15, 2008, in Chesterton, Ind. ... daughter of Benjamin and Tiffany Parrish ... has two older brothers, Carson and Tyler ... Tyler will be a basketball player at Winthrop this fall after spending the last two years at UIndy ... plans to major in Secondary Mathematics Education.

Last season, Wayne State compiled a 24-6 overall record, including a 13-3 GLIAC mark, which earned the Warriors a share of the conference's regular-season title.  WSU then won the GLIAC Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.  The Warriors graduated setter Abby Macalaguim, middle blocker Leigha Baldwin, libero Kendyl Andrews and senior All-American middle blocker Kayla Giroux.
