Women's Cross Country Has 12 GLIAC All-Academic Recipients

The women's cross country team has had 63 runners earn GLIAC All-Academic Excellence accolades over the last six seasons.

DETROIT -- The Wayne State University women's cross country team had 12 student-athletes garner Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) All-Academic honors. Of the 12 recipients, 10 were selected to the All-Academic Excellence Team, marking the fourth consecutive year that the squad has produced 10 or more Excellence Team members. Including this year, the women's cross country team has had 63 runners earn GLIAC All-Academic Excellence accolades over the last six seasons, and 78 total All-Academic honorees in the past six years.

Criteria states that student-athlete must be an active member on their respective sport roster at the end of the season, and not a true freshman or a first-year transfer student.

The 10 student-athletes receiving All-Academic Excellence Team accolades for maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5 were redshirt senior Robin Bresolin (LaSalle, Ont. / St. Thomas of Villanova), redshirt senior Jessica Denver (Imlay City, Mich. / [SC4/Catawba]), sophomore Annalise Elliott (Sparta, Mich. / Cedar Springs), sophomore Remi Flanz (Eastpointe, Mich. / Fraser [MMSTC]), redshirt sophomore Anna Gdowski (Northville, Mich.), redshirt junior Sarah Greb (Washington, Mich. / Romeo), graduate student Taylor Hopkins (Sanford, Mich. / Meridian [Northwood]), redshirt freshman Paige McArdle (Davison, Mich.), senior Aubrey Migoski (Wyandotte, Mich. / Roosevelt), and sophomore Emilee Rudlaff (Kalamazoo, Mich. / Central).

It was a season of firsts for this honor, as six of the 10 mentioned above became first-time GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team recipients. They included Denver (Environmental Science - 3.76), Elliott (Communication Science Disorders - 3.88), Flanz (Computer Science - 3.91), Hopkins (master's in Business Administration - 3.63), McArdle (Exercise & Sport Science - 4.00), and Rudlaff (Nursing - 4.00). Both Greb (Exercise & Sport Science - 3.75) and Migoski (Nursing - 3.88) were honored for the third time in their respective careers, while Gdowski (Exercise & Sport Science - 3.63) made the team for a second straight season. Bresolin (Environmental Science Honors - 3.79) was on the list for the fourth time in her collegiate career.

The two student-athletes earning All-Academic Team accolades for maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0-3.49 were redshirt junior Rachel Felstow (Leonard, Mich. / Romeo) and redshirt freshman Sydney Smith (Davison, Mich.).

Felstow (Biological Sciences - 3.49) was recognized for the third time, while Smith (Nursing - 3.47) obtained her first All-Academic Team honor.

The women's cross country squad had another excellent semester in the classroom for Winter 2026, as seven Warriors on the team had a perfect 4.0 term GPA. Additionally, the squad posted a cumulative 3.674 GPA for the term. Fourteen (14) student-athletes were on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll for a term GPA of 3.5 or better.
