Men's Swimming and Diving Places 15 On GLIAC All-Academic Teams

This increases the program's total number of recipients to 110 over the last seven seasons.

DETROIT -- The 2025-26 Wayne State University men's swimming and diving squad had 15 Academic All-GLIAC honorees, which increases the total number of recipients to 110 over the last seven seasons.

Criteria states that student-athlete must be an active member on their respective sport roster at the end of the season, and not a true freshman or a first-year transfer student.

Grade-point averages listed are calculated through the fall semester since that was the last grading period before the season ended.

The five student-athletes receiving All-Academic Excellence Team accolades for maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5 were junior Harrison Arnold (Shelby Township, Mich. / Utica Eisenhower), junior Kahlil Ben Ajmia (Tunis, Tunisia / Lycée Pierre De Coubertin), sophomore Olin Charnstrom (Oxford, Mich.), sophomore William Debroux (Oro-Medonte, Ont. / ÉSC Nouvelle-Alliance), and junior John Martin (Brownstown, Mich. / Woodhaven).

Arnold (Electrical & Computer Engineering - 3.88), Ben Ajmia (Marketing - 3.70), and Martin (Mechanical Engineering - 3.65) all banked the honor for a second-straight season after being eligible for the first time a season ago. The other two Warriors, Charnstrom (Nursing 3.92) and Debroux (Finance - 3.96) were eligible for the first time this year.

The 10 student-athletes earning All-Academic Team accolades for maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0-3.49 were redshirt sophomore Gabriel Arias (Bogota, Colombia / Liceo Juan Ramón Jiménez), sophomore Leland Curanovic (Farmington, Mich.), senior Alex Duhaime (Harrison Township, Mich. / Macomb Dakota), senior Muhammed Eliwat (Riverview, Mich.), sophomore Lochlain Hart (Farmington, Mich.), senior Matt Hernandez (Lake Orion, Mich.), sophomore Thomas McCourt (Bloomfield Hills, Mich. / Homeschooled), senior Mitchell McMath (Midland, Mich.), junior Nicholas Slater (Novi, Mich. / Walled Lake Western), and redshirt junior Lorenzo Tassinari (Ravenna, Italy / Liceo Scientifico Oriani).

Tassinari (Exercise & Sport Science - 3.11) earned the distinction for the first time in his collegiate career, as did Arias (Film - 3.01), Curanovic (Sport Management - 3.34), Hart (Applied Health Sciences - 3.44), and McCourt (Chemical Engineering - 3.48) as they were all first-year eligible. Slater (Electrical & Computer Engineering - 3.35) was honored in some form for the second-straight year, as last season he was on the Excellence Team. Both Duhaime (Exercise & Sport Science - 3.47) and Hernandez (Exercise & Sport Science - 3.30) were also honored for the second-straight year. Included for a third-consecutive campaign were Eliwat (Computer Science - 3.13) and McMath (Biological Sciences - 3.28).

The men's swimming and diving team had fourteen (14) student-athletes that were on the Athletic Director's Honor Roll for a term GPA of 3.5 or better in the Winter 2026 semester, with four of them achieving a perfect 4.0 term GPA.
