DETROIT -- The Wayne State University Athletic Marketing department has announced the themes for this upcoming volleyball season.
Friday, August 28 and Saturday, August 29 - Warrior Invitational - Gold Out
The Warrior volleyball team is kicking off its season with the Warrior Invitational, which is also part of the Warrior Welcome Week celebrations. Students and fans are encouraged to wear their best gold Warrior apparel. After the game on Saturday, students can continue the celebration at the annual Block Party, hosted on the athletics campus from 7 to 10 p.m. There will be giveaways, games, a live DJ, and more!
Friday, September 11 vs. Saginaw Valley State - Green Out
The Warriors open GLIAC play with a Green Out where students and fans are encouraged to show their Warrior pride by wearing green.
Saturday, September 12 vs. Grand Valley State - Flannel Night
Fall is in the air! Wear your favorite flannel and be one of the first 50 fans to arrive to receive complimentary cider and donuts, courtesy of Wayne State Athletics.
Friday, September 25 vs. Michigan Tech - Pajama Night
Get cozy for Pajama Night! Wear your favorite pajamas to the match and settle in for an exciting night watching your Warriors!
Saturday, September 26 vs. Roosevelt - Family Day
Family Day is the perfect opportunity to bring the whole family to cheer on the Warriors! Wayne State volleyball will welcome families and local youth volleyball teams for a fun-filled afternoon. Special discounted tickets will be available.
Friday, October 9 vs. Ferris State - Mind Matters
In recognition of Student-Athlete Mental Health Week (October 4–10), Wayne State athletics has partnered with the Hilinski's Hope Foundation to raise awareness for student-athlete mental health. Fans can stop by to pick up stress balls, stickers, temporary tattoos, and other giveaways.
Saturday, October 10 vs. Northern Michigan - Retro Day and Homecoming Celebration
Homecoming Weekend continues with Warrior Volleyball! Following the football game, join us for Retro Day as we welcome back Wayne State volleyball alumni and celebrate the proud tradition of Warrior volleyball.
Tuesday, October 20 vs. Davenport - Pink Out with Susan G. Komen
In partnership with the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Wayne State athletics and Wayne State volleyball will host their Pink Out game. Members of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer will be present and the first 100 fans will receive an exclusive "Warriors Wear Pink" t-shirt.
Friday, October 23 vs. Parkside - Senior Night
Join us as we celebrate Senior Night and recognize our graduating volleyball student-athletes during a special on-court ceremony before the final home match of the season.
