Men's Swimming/Diving Program Adds Three More Signees

Baca, Cortese and Starll will join the Warriors this fall.

DETROIT -- Wayne State University men's swimming and diving head coach Sean Peters, who enters his 30th season this fall, has announced three additional recruits for the 2026-27 season. Coming to WSU this fall are swimmers Diego Baca (Walled Lake Mich. / Walled Lake Central) and Logan Cortese (Windsor, Ont. / Riverside S.S.) along with diver Jace Starll (Flat Rock, Mich. / Gibraltar Carlson).

High School:  A 2026 graduate of Walled Lake Central High School ... was a four-year letterwinner for coach Sean Oxner ... was a two-year team captain for the Vikings ... swam personal-bests of 54.11 in the 100 back and 52.97 in the 100 fly at the February 2026 Lakes Valley Conference Championships to place second in both events ... won the 100 fly at the 2025 LVC Championships in 53.43 ... competed in the 100 back at the MHSAA Division 1 state championships each of his final three seasons and in the 100 fly each of his final two years ... swims during the summer for the Sailfish Swim Club, which was also coached by Sean Oxner.
