Men's Swimming and Diving Signs Three More For 2026-27

Johnson, Schwarzenberger and Whan will join the Warriors this fall.

DETROIT -- Wayne State University men's swimming and diving head coach Sean Peters, who enters his 30th season this fall, has announced three additional recruits for the 2026-27 season.  Coming to WSU this fall are divers Aiden Johnson (Aurora, Minn. / Mesabi East) and Matthew Schwarzenberger (Lake Orion, Mich.) and swimmer Ian Whan (Southfield, Mich. / Birmingham Groves).

High School:  A 2026 graduate of Mesabi East High School ... set the Giants school record for both six dives and 11 dives (444.40 points at the 2025 Taconite Invitational) .. was a three-time state participant, including twice a state finalist ... placed eighth in the MSHSL Class A state championship as a senior with a score of 329.80 ... earned Sectional Diver of the Year honors twice ... won the 2026 Sectional with a score of 419.70, after placing second in 2025 (401.00) and third in 2024 (326.10) ... also competed in alpine skiing and track (primarily triple jump) ... served as a team captain in swimming/diving ... was an Honors Student.
