Football Expands Depth With Three More Transfers

Kellum, Lane, and Massaquoi have become Warriors.

DETROIT -- With the 2026 football team reporting this Saturday, we will continue doing articles on the newcomers.  This fourth batch of transfers include wide receiver Lance-Matua Kellum (Bacliff, Texas / Dickinson [North American / RCTC]), quarterback Ethan Lane (Chandler, Ariz. / Basha [Central Michigan]), and linebacker George Massaquoi (Windsor, Ont. / Herman Academy [Eastern Michigan]).

Lance-Matua Kellum, WR, 6-1, 190, Jr., Bacliff, Texas / Dickinson (North American / RCTC)
2025:  Appeared in 10 games for the Rochester Community & Technical College Yellowjackets ... caught five passes for 82 yards with one touchdown on the season with all five receptions coming in a win over Minnesota State Community & Technical College ... made a season-best four tackles (1-3) in 30-27 triumph over Nassau Community College ... notched a season-high three solo stops in the aforementioned win over MSCTC ... named to the Fall 2025 Minnesota College Athletic Conference All-Academic Team.

2024:  Played in six games for the North American University Stallions (Stafford, Texas) ... had a four-game reception streak ... finished the year with six catches for 68 yards with a long of 26 yards against the Southwest Raiders  ... had two receptions in a game twice (at Hardin-Simmons and vs. Southwest) ... recorded a single-game best of 35 receiving yards vs. Southwest ... two of his four tackles were solo stops on kickoff coverage ... the NAU football program was discontinued in February of 2025.

High School:  A 2024 graduate of Dickinson High School in Dickinson, Texas ... attended Clear Brook High School in Friendswood, Texas, for two-and-a-half years ... earned two varsity letters in football ... helped Dickinson to a 9-2 record as a senior, including a 6-0 mark in the District.

Personal:  Full name -- Lance-Matua C. Kellum ... born on March 13, 2006, in Yona, Guam ... son of Leon and Cherese Kellum ... has five brothers, John, Marco, Keyon, Neveh and Omari ... plans to major in Computer Science.

2025:  Appeared in two contests for Central Michigan ... completed 1-of-3 passes for 10 yards in collegiate debut vs. Wagner ... also saw playing time vs. Massachusetts.

2024:  Did not see any game action for the Chippewas.

2023:  Did not see any game action as a true freshman at CMU.

High School:  A 2023 graduate of Basha High School ... was a three-year letterwinner for coach Chris McDonald ... helped lead BHS to a national top-25 ranking in 2022 with a 12-1 overall record as a senior ... helped Basha to a 28-21 victory over Saguaro in the 2022 Class 6A state championship game ... helped the Bears to a 10-1 mark as a junior ... served as a football team captain as a senior ... also competed in track for the Bears in 2021 ... attended Campo Verde High School (Gilbert, Ariz.) in 2019 ... was a member of the Academic Honor Roll.

Personal:  Full name -- Ethan T. Lane ... born on September 9, 2004, in Chandler, Ariz. ... son of Trent and Liz Lane ... has a younger sister, Dillan ... plans to major in Communications.

George Massaquoi, LB, 6-1, 220, R-Fr., Windsor, Ont. / Herman Academy (Eastern Michigan)
2025:  Attended Eastern Michigan, but was not part of the football roster.

High School:  A 2025 graduate of W.F. Herman Academy in Windsor ... helped the Griffins to two Windsor & Essex County Secondary School Athletic Association (WECSSAA) championships ... earned All-Ontario recognition as well as All-City ... also competed in soccer and basketball earned basketball MVP accolades ... served as a team captain in both football and basketball.

Personal:  Full name -- George Massaquoi ... born on August 5, 2007, in Columbus, Ohio ... son of George and Massa Massaquoi ... has two brothers, Aron and James, and a younger sister, Georgina ... Aron played football at Western (Ontario) and for the Windsor Lancers ... plans to major in Criminal Justice.
