Sienna Mroue wins GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week

Mroue picks up Wayne State's first offensive weekly GLIAC honor.

DETROIT -- Wayne State University freshman forward Sienna Mroue (Dearborn, Mich.) was named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week, earning the first offensive weekly award in program history and the Warriors' third consecutive weekly honor this season.

Mroue played a vital role in Wayne State's 5-0 start, scoring both goals in the 2-1 GLIAC victory over Ferris State on Friday.  The newcomer has scored in five consecutive matches and leads the league with six goals and three game-winning goals, totaling 13 points.  Nationally, Mroue also ranks among the nation's leaders in goals, tied for fourth, and game-winning goals, tied for sixth.

"Well deserved for Sienna.  She has adjusted her game well as a freshman," said head coach Doug Steinard.  "Her ability to score in different ways makes her hard to defend.  The team had done a great job creating situations where Sienna can do her thing!"

Wayne State has two home matches this weekend with Purdue Northwest visiting the WSU Soccer Complex for a 6 PM match on Friday and Davenport coming to Motown for a 1 PM match on Sunday.
