High School:  A 2012 graduate of East Grand Rapids High School ... helped the Pioneers to a 9-4 mark as a senior for coach Peter Stuursma … finished second on the team in 2011 with 108 total tackles and led the Pioneers with six interceptions, 10 pass break-ups, and three fumble recoveries ... had 20 receptions and six touchdowns as a senior and also returned two interceptions, two punts, and one kickoff for touchdowns ... EGRHS went 14-0 in 2010 including a 35-27 Division 3 state championship game victory over Orchard Lake St. Mary's … tied for team-high total with 11 tackles in state title game while starting at both defensive back and flanker … had four catches for 34 yards, including a nine-yard reception setting up the Pioneers first touchdown ... had an 11-yard reception on a fourth-and-eight in the third quarter with EGRHS leading 21-14 ... also had an 11-yard catch on a third-and-10 in the fourth quarter ... served as a team captain in both football and basketball.
