Brendan Kelly was named Ticket Supervisor for Wayne State Athletics in August of 2021. He originally joined the WSU Athletics Staff as a graduate assistant with the baseball program in the summer of 2020. Kelly works primarily with the pitchers on Coach Ryan Kelley's staff.
During the 2021 season, Kelly helped mentor First Team All-GLIAC pitcher Dillon McInerney as well as Honorable Mention All-GLIAC hurler Jack Schmidt. His pitching corps posted the 12th-lowest ERA in the last 35 years (4.71), while helping the Warriors to a 23-16 record.
He served as an assistant coach at Cleary College during the COVID-19 shortened season of 2020 following his collegiate playing career. In the summer of 2020, Kelly served as an assistant coach with the Thunder Bay Border Cats (Mandan Flickertails) of the Northwoods League which played all of its games in Bismarck, North Dakota. He previously worked for the Lansing Lugnuts (2019) and Gary SouthShore Railcats (2018).
As a collegiate student-athlete, Kelly spent the 2015 campaign on the North Central College Junior Varsity squad.
He was a two-year (2016 and 2017) starting pitcher at Muskegon Community College, while earning an associates degree.
As a junior in 2018, Kelly had a 1-1 mark in 12 games with a 4.81 ERA for Purdue Northwest. His lone victory came against Grand Valley State after pitching a scoreless top of the ninth as the Pride won a wild pitch in the bottom of the inning.
Kelly appeared in 11 games as a senior for Purdue Northwest in 2019, compiling a 2-1 record with one save. He posted wins over Indianapolis and St. Xavier, and a save vs. Ashland.
He received a bachelor's degree in communication from Purdue Northwest in 2019.
A 2014 graduate of Grandville High School, Kelly spent a couple of years on the varsity team for the Bulldogs.
