Carey Larabee joined the Wayne State University baseball coaching staff as a volunteer assistant in the summer of 2024.

"Very familiar to our program, Carey will be instrumental within our team building concepts," said head coach Ryan Kelley.  "His experience and leadership capabilities will impact our baseball student-athletes via mentorship, professional and personal growth.  Carey will also assist with team operations as we continue to advance WSU baseball forward."

The Algonac, Mich. native graduated from the University of Michigan in 2002 with a degree in Sport Management and Communications.  While at UM, Larabee was the recipient of the University of Michigan James Neubacher Award, which honors a UM affiliate who increases awareness and community access for people with disabilities.

He has worked at Walt Disney World/ESPN Wide World of Sports in Guest Operations since 2005.  During his time at WDW, Larabee was awarded the Walt Disney Legacy Award which honors cast members for exemplary performance and commitment to Walt Disney traditions and ideals.  Prior to heading to Lake Buena Vista, Fla., he was the Sports and Recreation Coordinator at the Ann Arbor Center for Independent Living.

Since 2020, Larabee has been a member of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Guest and Member Relations Gameday Staff. Â
