Dominic Clementi, a 2020 graduate from the University of Michigan, served as a volunteer assistant coach with the Wayne State University baseball program during the 2020-21 academic year.
A native of Hartland, Wis., Clementi was a four-year letterwinner (2017-2020) for the Wolverines and a three-year starter in the outfield and as a designated hitter. He was a two-time Community Engagement Award nominee (2017-18 and 2019-20), along with being a member of the 2019 squad that reached the finals of the College World Series.
On the diamond, Clementi was a 2017-18 MGoBlue Breakout Player of the Year Award Finalist. He was voted to the 2018 ABCA/Rawlings All-Mideast Region First Team after being recognized on the All-Big Ten First Team squad. In addition, he was Michigan's Bill Freehan Offensive Player of the Year Award Winner.
The following year (2019) as a junior, Clementi was the Preseason Big Ten Conference Player to Watch.
After hitting .409 in 18 games as a true freshman in 2017, Clementi led Michigan (and the Big Ten) with a .368 batting average and a .485 on-base percentage in 2018.
He played in 115 career games for Michigan, making 64 starts and batting .298 (85-for-285) with five home runs and 45 RBI, along with a .401 on-base percentage.
Clementi received his bachelor's degree in General Studies within the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts.
