UPDATED January 18, 2024

Dominic Sciturro is entering his second season with the Warrior baseball program. During his initial season in 2023, Sciturro served as an undergraduate student assistant coach aiding in day-to-day program operations while completing a B.S. in Sport Management from WSU with a Business Administration minor.

En route to the winningest season in program history, Sciturro worked with hitters and baserunners while serving as the team’s first base coach during the 2023 campaign. Sciturro also developed a new analytics program, inputting team data and producing analytical metrics for both practices and games.

Sciturro’s contributions helped lead the Warriors to a program record 42 wins (42-13) as well as 24 GLIAC victories (24-6), tying the school record.  WSU captured both the GLIAC Regular Season and Tournament Championships for the first time since 2010 on their way to a second-consecutive NCAA Tournament berth.

During the 2024 campaign, he will serve as a graduate assistant coach while earning a Master of Arts degree in Sport Administration. Sciturro will oversee the outfielders and assist coach Hepner with the offense, while once again coaching first base. He will lead the organization of team collected data and analytics, as well as aid in recruiting efforts, organizing camps, and alumni and community affairs.

Sciturro also serves as an academic learning specialist in the WSU Department of Athletics. Sciturro worked on the team that provided academic oversight for the Warrior football program during the Fall 2023 semester. The Fall 2023 term marks the first semester since Winter 2021 that the team achieved a GPA of 3.0+. Of the 44 players named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll (term GPA of 3.5+), Sciturro was responsible for 12 of them. Meanwhile, he also oversaw nine of the 26 players who achieved the Coach’s Honor Roll (term GPA of 3.0-3.49).

Previously, he had volunteer coached and interned in baseball operations for the United Shore Professional Baseball League where he aided in the upkeep of player data files, collected in-game film to match with batted ball tracking technology, threw batting practice, and hit fungos.

Prior to WSU, Sciturro was on the coaching staff at his high school alma mater, Warren De La Salle Collegiate, where he played in the baseball program. In two seasons coaching with the Pilots, Sciturro helped advance multiple players to the NCAA DI, DII, NJCA, and NAIA levels. The Pilots advanced to the regional round of the State Tournament in both seasons.

Sciturro is Rapsodo certified and has worked out of John Musachio’s Moose Athletics and Devan Ahart’s Hitting 2.0 as a hitting coach.

Sciturro is a passionate Detroiter, born in the city and raised in metro Detroit. He is the son of Jamie and Leslie Sciturro.
