Arya Haritash re-joined the Wayne State University football coaching staff as an assistant defensive line coach in the summer of 2021.
He helped mentor two Honorable Mention All-GLIAC performers in Jalen Lewis and Arnold Saidov. Lewis, who served as a team captain in 2021, started all eight games played, while Saidov led all WSU defensive linemen with 30 tackles. In addition, two student-athletes (Kane Quinlan and Jarrett Short) were named to the GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team for maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5, while six others (Damond Duncan, Jacob Edelman, Charles Ellington, Kofe Kimbrell, Jacob Mass and McKinley Underwood) earned GLIAC All-Academic honors.
He originally was part of the WSU staff in the fall of 2019 as a Defensive/Recruiting Assistant. Arya spent two summers (2018 and 2019) as a training camp intern with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Arya earned a bachelor's degree in Sport Management from Central Michigan University in 2018. While an undergrad at CMU, he spent three years (2015-16-17) as a student assistant with the Chippewas.
He played football all four years of his prep career at Royal Oak High School, graduating in 2012.
