Dr. Maria Sepúlveda began working with the Wayne State football program in the fall of 2003. Her primary role as a learning specialist is facilitating the study hall/learning component. The fall of 2024 marked her 22nd year assisting with the football program.
She is a licensed professional counselor with an expertise in applied sport psychology, areas of performance, mental preparedness and stress management.
Sepúlveda’s educational background includes a BS in occupational therapy/rehabilitation and a M.Ed in counseling from the University of Texas and Doctoral degree in 2008 from Wayne State University with a concentration in sport psychology and clinical counseling.
In addition, she taught courses in Psychology in the School of Liberal Arts faculty with Henry Ford College and Central Michigan University’s (graduate) Clinical Counseling program
