Ed Reny

(UPDATED 12/25/2018):  Ed Reny joined the Wayne State football coaching staff as a graduate assistant in 2017 and has worked with the offensive line the last two seasons (2017 and 2018).

In 2017, he helped WSU rank 15th nationally in time of possession (32:54), 29th in fewest tackles for loss allowed (4.82 per game), 33rd in fewest sacks allowed (1.36 per game), 37th in red zone offense (84.8%), and 38th in rushing offense (192.9 yards per game) with an offensive line that had a combined three career starts at the beginning of the season ... in addition, two members of the offensive line received All-Academic Excellence honors (Greg Webber and Charlie Younger).

This past year (2018), Reny helped mentor two First Team All-GLIAC selections in Tommy Richardson and Israel Helms, along with WSU Offensive Rookie of the Year Reid Thompson.  WSU ranked 28th nationally in fewest tackles for loss allowed per game (5.09), and 39th in yards per completion (13.74).

2016:  
Named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team ... dressed for all six home games, plus at Ferris State, seeing action in six contests ... made season debut as back-up left tackle vs. Lake Erie ... also saw action at left tackle against Hillsdale ... did not travel for the first three road games or to Ohio Dominican ... dressed, but did not play against Tiffin ... saw action as a back-up left guard vs. Walsh and Saginaw Valley State ... started at left guard in season finale against #2-Grand Valley State ... played on the PAT/FG team at Ferris State ... 2015:  Named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team ... played in the last nine games, making first career start in season finale at Hillsdale ... did not travel to Michigan Tech ... dressed but did not play vs. Truman ... made season debut vs. Malone on PAT and as a back-up right guard ... saw action as the back-up left tackle at Tiffin, as the back-up right tackle against Northern Michigan and as the back-up right guard and right tackle at Walsh ... started at left tackle at Hillsdale ... played on the PAT/FG unit in the last eight contests ... 2014:  Named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team ... dressed for 10 games, seeing playing time in eight contests ... saw action as the back-up left guard vs. Michigan Tech, Northern Michigan, Walsh, Findlay, Lake Erie and Hillsdale ... played as the back-up left tackle vs. Carson-Newman and Grand Valley State ... did not travel to Malone ... dressed but did not play against Northwood and Tiffin ... also saw action on the PAT/FG unit in six games ... 2013:  Dressed for the first 10 games, seeing action in the first nine contests ... made collegiate debut at left tackle in the Carson-Newman contest ... also saw time at left tackle vs. Malone, and at right tackle at Hillsdale, Northern Michigan and Ferris State ... did not travel to Michigan Tech ... played on the PAT/FG team in eight games ... 2012:  Dressed for all the home games, but did not see any playing time ... was redshirted.

High School:  A 2012 graduate of Dexter High School ... was a two-year varsity letterwinner for coach Brian Baird ... selected to the Southeastern Conference White Division First Team as an offensive lineman … helped the Dreadnaughts to a 5-4 mark as a senior.
