Joseph Reyna joined the Wayne State University athletic department as the football program's Director of Player Personnel in August of 2023. He was elevated to Football Chief of Staff as well as Player Engagement in August of 2024. He will serve in tht same role for the 2025-26 academic year.
Reyna has spent nearly 19 years in law enforcement and is currently a sergeant with the Dearborn Heights Police Department. He also has extensive experience as an investigator/trainer as well as 12 years of Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) experience.
Reyna graduated from Madonna with a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and the highest honors in 2014. He then earned a master's degree in Technology Studies in 2022 from Eastern Michigan.
He was a member of the Wayne State football team in 1992-93 and has two children, Eric and Cassandra.
