Career Notes: Kelly Kashmerick, a four-year (1999-2002) member of the Wayne State softball team and a two-time NFCA First Team All-America selection, is a 2009 WSU Athletic Hall of Fame inductee ... finished her WSU career as the all-time leader in games played (231) and at bats (769), a total which ranks 23rd in NCAA Division II history ... second in career hits (281), doubles (54) and total bases (377), third in runs scored (135) and fourth in batting average (.365) when she graduated ... was also in the top 10 in triples (9), slugging percentage (.490) and on-base percentage (.390) ... In addition to being a three-time All-GLIAC selection and a two-time First Team All-Region honoree, Kashmerick holds the WSU single-season marks for games played (63 in 2000), at bats (203 in 2001), doubles (18 in 2002) and total bases (118 in 2001) ... David Adamany Award recipient, Kashmerick graduated in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education .... earned the 2001-02 WSU Female Student-Athlete of the Year.
2002: Earned First Team All-American, All-Region and All-GLIAC honors after starting all 50 games finishing second on the team in hitting (.392) ... led the team in hits (69), at-bats (176), runs scored (42), total bases (99) and doubles (18).
2001: Named First Team All-American, All-Region and All-GLIAC after starting all 57 games, hitting a team leading .404 with 82 hits and 25 RBI ... led the Warriors in at-bats (203), runs scored (43), on-base percentage (.420), total bases (118) and doubles (17).
2000: Named Second Team All-GLIAC ... hit a team leading .330 with 66 hits and 21 RBI in 63 games ... led the Warriors in at-bats (200), RBI (21), total bases (84), slugging percentrage (.420) and sacrifices flies (3) ... second in the GLIAC in hits, fifth in total bases and second in total plate appearances ... holds the WSU single-season record for at-bats (200) and is also tied for the single-season record for games played (63) ... had her best game against Saginaw Valley State (4/1) going 4-for-5 with one double, two runs scored and one RBI.
1999: Played in 61 games while starting in 60 as a freshman ... finished the season with the highest batting average on the team (.337) and tied for the most hits (64) ... tied for second on the team in doubles (9) and sacrifices (8) ... third on the team in runs and also stole six bases ... earned All-GLIAC honorable mention.
High School: Played and lettered for four years under Head Coach Ron King at Flushing High School ... named All-State, All-Region, All-District and All-League and also Most Valuable played her senior year ... earned All-Conference and Most Valuable Player in tennis.
