Ahmed Elsayed completed his collegiate fencing career as the program leader in epee wins (288), was named a First Team All-American in 2019, and received All-CCFC honors for three seasons (2022, 2023, and 2024).  Elsayed has previously coached at international camps in Egypt, France, and Italy and has coached junior and cadet fencers at the Dr. Sayed Samy Fencing Academy.

Career Notes:  Competed in 29 events with an overall record of 290-110, which includes a 2-0 ledger in the sabre ... the 288 bout victories in the epee is most all-time for the program in the weapon ... is one of 12 men's fencers to have 200 or more bout victories (all weapons) ... a three-time competitor at the NCAA Championships (2019, 2022, and 2023) ... earned First Team All-American honors after going 17-7 at the 2019 event to finish tied-for-third ... garnered All-CCFC recognition three season in a row (2022, 2023, and 2024).

2023-24:  Was a First Team All-CCFC selection in the epee for a third consecutive season ... named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team ... competed in two events and was 29-19 in the epee ... became the all-time winningest epee fencer in the history of the men's fencing program, with 290 total wins in the weapon to pass Slava Zingerman's 277 between 2007 and 2010 ... saw first action of the season at the Northwestern Duals (2/3-4) and was 12-11 across the two days ... finished runner-up in his weapon for the individual portion of the Central Collegiate Fencing Conference Championships (2/24-25) ... amassed a 17-8 record for both the individual and team competitions ... the 17 bout victories were a team best ... helped Wayne State finish second as program for the championships, just behind Ohio State ... aided the epee squad to second place for the weapon during the team competition ... was one of eight men's fencers to finish with a cumulative season record of .500 or better (minimum 12 bouts) ... also battled in several international events in an effort to qualify for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris ... had an overall record of 8-11 in those tournaments ... totaled a 3-4 mark at the 59th Bern World Cup (11/10), while assisting Team Egypt to sixth out of 33 nations during the team event ... was part of the top 64 at the Vancouver World Cup (12/8-9), where he garnered a 6-4 ledger and a finishing position of 62nd out of 245 fencers ... Team Egypt went 1-4 for 16th in Vancouver ... went 2-4 at the Qatar Grand Prix (1/30) and 3-4 at the Tbilisi (Georgia) World Cup (3/22) ... these do not count towards the career record.

2022-23:  Received First Team All-CCFC honors in the epee ... named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team ... competed in seven events, recording a 54-29 mark in the epee and a 1-0 record in the sabre ... started the campaign with a perfect 10-0 record at the Remenyik Open (10/1-2) ... posted a 7-1 record en route to a ninth-place finish at the Ohio State Open (10/29) ... notched a season-best 12 bout wins in going 12-3 overall at the Philadelphia Invitational (1/22) ... went 4-1 in the epee at the Notre Dame DeCicco Duals (1/28) ... also competed in and won his only sabre bout at Notre Dame ... had a 4-2 mark at the Northwestern Duals (2/4-5) ... qualified for the NCAA Regionals (3/11) and finished with a 8-8 record while finishing sixth overall in the weapon ... competed at the NCAA Championships (3/23-24) for the third time in his career and tallied a 9-14 overall record and 16th place finish.

2021-22:  Earned All-Midwest Region accolades ... First Team All-CCFC selection in the epee ... named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team ... participated in 10 events ... led the roster with a 105-38 record in the epee ... won 17 matches at the Ohio State Invitational (10/2-3) ... went 11-0 at the Remenyik Open (10/9-10) ... collected 11 wins and five loses at the NAC (11/2) in St. Louis (does not count towards career numbers) ... finished 6-3 at the Ohio State Elite Invitational (12/5) ... did not lose in his eight bouts at the Detroit Titans Invite (11/23) ... posted a 14-3 record at the Notre Dame DeCicco Duals (1/29) ... went 19-5 at the Northwestern Winter Duals (2/5-6) ... won seven of his nine bouts at the conference championships (2/27) ... went 11-5 at the NCAA Regionals (3/12) ... competed at the NCAA Championships (3/26-27) and finished 12-11.

2020-21:  Named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team ... competed in three events ... went 20-12 in the epee ... started season by going 14-6 at the Ohio State Open (2/6-7) ... tallied five wins in six bouts at the Wayne State Duals (2/28) and went 1-5 at the Notre Dame Duals (3/13).

2019-20:  Redshirted due to training for the Tokyo Olympics, which were canceled due to COVID-19.

2018-19:  Earned First Team All-American honors after going 17-7 at the NCAA Championships to finish tied-for-third ... fenced in seven tournaments in the epee and also once in the sabre ... finished with an 80-12 overall record in the epee and 1-0 in the sabre ... went 15-0 at the UD-Mercy Invite (1/13) and 8-0 at the Notre Dame Duals (1/26) ... finished 12-3 at the Northwestern Duals (2/2) ... won all six of his epee bouts and his one sabre result at the WSU Duals (2/9) ... went 11-1 at the Midwest Fencing Conference Championships (2/23-24) to win a league title ... continued his hot streak by winning a regional title at the NCAA Regionals (3/9), going 9-1 ... placed 13th out of 372 competitors at the May 2019 Epee World Cup in Paris.
