Michael Karpinski joins the 2017-18 men's and women's fencing coaching staff as a student assistant coach.

2016-17:  Participated in eight meets: two in epee, eight in sabre ... participated in the Danosi Open (12/11) and MFC Championships (2/25) in foil ... posted six wins in the Titan Invitational (1/14) ... recorded a 5-4 record in the WSU Duals (2/11) ... went 2-2 in the MFC Championships, competing in the epee division (0-1), and the sabre division (2-1).

2015-16:  Competed in five meets … tied-for-28th in the sabre division at the Danosi Open (12/6) … earned three bout wins at the Northwestern Duals (1/30) … participated in both epee and sabre division at the WSU Dual Meet (2/7) … finished 42nd in the individual competition (sabre) at the MFC Championships (2/27) … went 1-2 for the epee team at the conference meet (2/28).

2014-15:  Competed in five events for WSU ... placed 14th in the WSU Danosi Open (11/23) ... collected three wins at the Northwestern Duals (1/31).

High School: A 2012 graduate of Grosse Pointe North High School.
