David Andrus joined the men's golf coaching staff prior to the 2016-17 season as a volunteer assistant coach and provides operational support and travel assistance to the program.
The 2022-23 campaign was his seventh as a member of coach Mike Horn's staff. During his tenure, the Warriors made three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances (2017-18-19) and were ranked No. 1 in the region in 2020 before COVID-19 canceled the spring portion of the season. The squad returned to the NCAA Tournament in both 2022 and 2023.
"David has been a huge part of the coaching staff the past seven years," commented Horn. "His son, Jordan, played on the team from 2012-2017. He started coaching then and his responsibilities have increased ever since. David has passed the recruiting tests and has helped in that process for the last six years. He is instrumental with regard to team travel, morale and team building. Since he brings such a “positive" vibe to the team, his nickname is Coach P. David’s role continues to grow, and he is a valued part of the program and will continue to serve in that role in 2023-2024."
