UPDATED May 24, 2025

The Wayne State University softball program, led by head coach Nicole Tines, has announced the addition of Lindsey Hibbs as the graduate assistant coach for the upcoming 2025-26 academic year.

"We are thrilled to be welcoming Lindsey into our program," commented Tines.  "she will be taking over the direction of our pitching staff, and I am confident she will be able to provide the devotion and individual attention our pitching staff needs to grow and improve.  She is already eager to make an impact and is passionate about the sport of softball and the art of pitching.  Lindsey will provide a fresh take, along with a wealth of knowledge, experience and success as a former DII pitcher.  Her accolades speak for themselves, and I know we are going to continue to grow as a program and as a staff with her addition."

Hibbs, a native of Brampton, Ont., spent the last year at Upper Deck Baseball Academy in Brampton as well as giving private pitching lessons.

During her collegiate career at Adelphi, Hibbs was a two-time Academic All-American and the 2023 D2CCA National Pitcher of the Year.  She received NE10 Academic Honor Roll recognition all seven semesters at Adelphi and was a multi-year D2ADA Academic Achievement Award recipient.  Link to Adelphi bio.

In the circle, Hibbs compiled a 75-28 record in 126 appearances (96 starts) with a career ERA of 1.16 and 30 shutouts.  She struck out 995 batters in 684.2 innings, while allowing opponent batters to hit at a .166 clip.  Hibbs also garnered eight saves and walked just 96 batters for a 10.4 K/BB ratio.

She ranks third in school history in both innings pitched and shutouts, tied-for-first in both wins and saves, and first in strikeouts with 995 (No. 2 has 790).  Her 28 wins as a junior set the school record as did her 397 strikeouts in 2023.

A First Team All-American in 2023 by both the NFCA and D2CCA, Hibbs was also a three-year (2022-23-24) NFCA First Team All-Region honoree as well as the 2023 NE10 Tournament MVP.  She was selected to the NE10 All-Tournament Team each of her final three seasons with the Panthers.  In 2022, she helped lead Adelphi to the NCAA Division 2 College World Series.
