Alex Wilson served as an assistant coach with the men’s and women’s cross country squads in the fall of 2017.
Wilson came to Wayne State after spending the 2016-17 season as the head cross country coach at Fraser High School. He also assisted the Ramblers track and field team.
He is a 2015 graduate of Michigan State University, where he majored in social studies education. As a member of the Spartan cross country team, he was a four-year letterwinner (2011-14) after redshirting in 2010. He was an All-Region selection and a national qualifier in 2012 and 2014.
In track, he was a two-time regional qualifier in the 5K (2014 and 2015) with a personal-best time of 14:15, as well as the 10K, with a personal-best time of 29:27.
Wilson graduated from Kent City High School in 2010, winning the Division 3 state championship twice in the 1600-meter (2009 and 2010), as well as the 3200 during his senior year.
