Emily O'Malley joined the Wayne State University women's soccer coaching staff as a post-graduate intern coach in August of 2026.

A 2025 graduate of Butler University with a degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, she played in 74 career matches for the Bulldogs, starting the final 56 games played.  A central midfielder, O'Malley concluded her collegiate career with one goal (at Marquette as a senior) and eight assists, while playing 4,700 minutes for BU.

The native of Chesterfield, Mich., she was twice (2023 and 2025) a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honoree.

She played club soccer for the 2021 Girls Academy National Champion Michigan Nationals.  O'Malley also won the USYSA National Championship three times (2015-16-17).  The class valedictorian at L'Anse Cruese North, she was also a member of the National Honor Society and Student Council.
