Mathew Walczowski joined the Wayne State University women's soccer coaching staff as a volunteer coach working with the goalkeepers in the summer of 2026 and will serve in that role during the inaugural season of women's soccer at WSU.
Walczowski, a 2012 graduate of Oakland University with a degree in Chemistry, also earned his master's in Chemistry from OU in 2016.
He has spent the last four years as the Director of Youth Goalkeeping for Detroit City FC as well as the Goalkeeper Coach for the Detroit City FC Academy. Â In addition, he has served the last two years as an assistant coach and Goalkeeper Coach for Detroit City FC II.
Walczowski obtained both a USSF C Coaching License and a USSF Goalkeeper C Coaching License in 2025, and is currently pursuing a UEFA C Coaching License.
He was a member of the Oakland University club soccer program 2007-2011 and served as the President of the OU Club Sports Advisory Council in 2010-11.
He and his wife, Andrea, and the parents of two children, Gavin and Isla.
