Phoenix Williams joined the Wayne State University women's tennis coaching staff in the spring of 2025.
The native of Bloomfield Hills, Williams competed in both 2019-20 and 2020-21 for Howard University's men's tennis squad playing both singles and doubles.
He earned his communications degree with an emphasis on Media, Journalism and Film in May of 2024.
His previous coaching experience includes Palmer Park Tennis Academy in Detroit, and as an assistant coach for the Cranbrook boys varsity team in the fall of 2024. Â Williams is currently a tennis professional at Franklin Athletic (Racket and Health) Club in Southfield.
He was a four-year recipient of the NASP Shafter Terry III Scholarship and spent time at the U.S. Capitol as a communications intern.
