Aislyn Shannon

Aislyn Shannon joined the Wayne State University cross country and track and field programs as an assistant coach in the fall of 2023.

Shannon was most recently a Marketing/Agency Intern at the McRae Sports Group from November 2022 through June 2023.  She also was a Resident Assistant at Davenport University for nearly two years (November 2021-May 2023).

She has also worked with the Kalamazoo Growlers as an Entertainment/Sponsorship Activation Intern during the summer and as a Sports Specialist at the Mary Free Bed YMCA, a non-profit in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Shannon graduated in May of 2023 with a Bachelor's of Business Administration in Sports Management from Davenport.  She was included on the President's List as a college student.

Prior to her coaching career, Shannon competed in track and field competitions at DU for three years, specializing in the 800m event.  Her and her Panther teammates earned the school record in the distance medley relay event (TFRRS link).

Other accomplishments include being first place in the category of Entrepreneurship by the Business Professionals of America and third place in the category of Contemporary Issues by the BPA.  She was named a Sports Management Student Representative for the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA) as well.

She hails from Schoolcraft, Mich. and was named Athlete of the Year at Schoolcraft High School during her time there, and was a 2020 graduate of the school.  Shannon also had dual-enrollment at Kalamazoo Valley Community College during her high school career.
