Collin Nurenberg joined the Wayne State University cross country coaching staff in the summer of 2018 as an assistant coach.  He will also serve as an assistant coach on the women's track and field squad working with the distance runners.

He previously served as the head track coach at St. Johns High School (2017 and 2018), as an assistant cross country coach at Saginaw Heritage High School (2016 and 2017) and as a student volunteer coach at Saginaw Valley State University (2016, 2017 and 2018).

He helped lead the SHHS boys cross country squad to back-to-back Saginaw Valley League championships and a regional title in 2017.  The boys squad was ninth at the 2016 MHSAA Championships and improved to a sixth-place finish in 2017.

Nurenberg earned a bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from SVSU in 2018.  He received GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team recognition for both the 2017 indoor and outdoor seasons.

A native of St. Johns, Mich., he garnered Academic All-CAAC (Capital Area Activities Conference) honors in both soccer and track.  Nurenberg earned All-State accolades as a member of the 4x800 relay and was selected to the All-CAAC team in both soccer and track.
