Kadine Johnson-Crowder was named assistant track coach in charge of the throwers at Wayne State University in October of 2019.  She will begin her third year at WSU in the fall of 2021.

At the 2021 GLIAC Outdoor Championships, junior Izzy Taylor placed eighth in the javelin with a throw of 30.55m (100-02) on her third attempt becoming the sixth person in the nine-year history of the program to have a throw over 100 feet.  In addition, junior Kaleigh Flowers finished eighth in the hammer throw with a toss of 45.57m (149-06) on her fifth attempt.  It was the fourth-best hammer mark in program history.  Senior Maddie Schmoker received GLIAC All-Academic Excellence recognition for both the indoor and outdoor seasons.

Johnson-Crowder joined the WSU track and field coaching staff after serving as an assistant track and field coach at Amherst College for one year (2018-19).  Prior to joining the Mammoths, she was an assistant throws coach at Louisiana Tech for three seasons (2015-18).  Johnson-Crowder also served as an assistant track and field coach at Texas-Pan American for two years (2013-15), following a two-year stint as the volunteer assistant throws coach at Maryland Baltimore County (2011-13).

She competed for Jamaica in international competition, placing second overall at the 2011 World Championship trials and just narrowly missing out on an Olympic qualifying mark while rising to the rank of the national team's No. 3 hammer thrower.

She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Albany in 2011, and a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Grambling State University in 2018.  Johnson-Crowder also earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from UMBC in 2013.

Her best outdoor marks are 13.55m (shot put), 40.20m (discus), 58.22m (hammer) and 19.28m (weight).
