Brayden Marks joined head coach Ryan Kelley's coaching staff as a graduate assistant in the summer of 2026 following a four-year playing career as a pitcher at the Division I level.
Marks spent the first three of those four seasons (2023-25) at Bradley University of the Missouri Valley Conference with 56 appearances, 10 starts, 121 innings pitched, and an 8.55 ERA in those three campaigns. The 121 frames of work included one victory, two saves, 92 strikeouts, 64 walks and a .322 batting average against. Academically, he completed course work for a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Communication.

The Elkhorn, Wis. native then finished off his career in 2025-26 at North Dakota State University of The Summit League. That run included nine outings, all of which were as the starter, three victories, 40 and two-thirds innings pitched, a 7.75 ERA, 18 punchouts, 19 free passes, and a .351 opponent batting average. He then received CSC Academic All-District honors and was named to the Summit League All-Academic Team. Graduated with a degree in University Studies with an emphasis in Strategic Communications.

During his time at Elkhorn High School, he was a four-time letterwinner with a career 1.11 ERA as well as All-Conference recognition as both a junior and senior.
