Kyle Lewis joined the Wayne State University Department of Athletics in September of 2024 as the Ticket and Merchandise Supervisor.

A former football student-athlete (2015-20) and graduate assistant coach (2021) with the Warrior football program, Lewis returned to WSU after spending the previous year as an Inside Sales Representative with Ilitch Sports & Entertainment working with the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers.  Prior to joining ISE, Lewis worked for Amazon.

As a member of the Warrior football program, Lewis appeared in 24 games despite missing three seasons due to a freshman redshirt, a medical redshirt and a COVID redshirt.  He earned a bachelor's degree in Sport Management in 2020 and a master's degree in Sports Administration in 2021.

A seven-time member of the Academic Honor Roll, Lewis was an Honorable Mention All-GLIAC selection in 2018, and received Academic All-GLIAC recognition in 2020.

During the 2021 season, he helped mentor First Team All-GLIAC wide receiver Tre Davis, whose 18.1 yards per catch was first in the league.  WSU ranked second in the GLIAC in yards per completion (13.1) and fourth in scoring (24.1 points per game).

2020: Named to the GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team ... season canceled due to COVID-19 ... 2020-21 recipient of the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award.

2019:  Played in all eight games dressed ... had five kickoff returns for 137 yards against Slippery Rock, along with one reception ... recorded two kickoff returns and a first-down reception at Truman ... garnered a team-high three catches in the win over #25-Saginaw Valley State, with all three receptions going for a first down ... totaled a team-best 67 all-purpose yards vs. SVSU ... missed the next three contests due to an injury ... had two catches at Davenport ... saw playing time on kickoff return in five games, on punt return in four contests, and on punt coverage in the first three games ... 2017:  Missed the entire year due to a pre-season injury ... switched to No. 2.

2016:  Dressed for nine games, seeing action in five contests to earn first letter ... made collegiate debut late in the fourth quarter at Northwood ... saw fourth quarter playing time against both Lake Erie and Saginaw Valley State ... did not travel to Findlay or Ohio Dominican ... played on the punt return team at Ferris State and the kickoff coverage team against #2-Grand Valley State ... switched to No. 89 ... High School:  A 2015 graduate of Detroit Renaissance High School ... was a three-year letterwinner for the Phoenix and coach Tony Elliott … passed for 1,067 yards and 13 touchdowns as a senior … rushed for seven touchdowns and 735 yards in 2014 … named to the 2014 All-Detroit Honorable Mention Team by the Detroit Free Press as a quarterback … voted to the Detroit Public School League All-City Team … had 15 receptions for 335 yards and three touchdowns as a junior … returned one of his two interceptions for a touchdown ... selected as the squad's 2014 Offensive Most Valuable Player ... served two years as a football team captain.
