Originally from Reno, Nev., Paul Vossen joined the Wayne State University baseball coaching staff as a graduate assistant under head coach Ryan Kelley during the summer of 2025. 

Prior to becoming a Warrior, Vossen completed his collegiate career with a pair of seasons (58 games played, 47 games started) at Division I St. Bonaventure (BIO) of the Atlantic 10.  In 2024, he served as the team's primary centerfielder before having season cut short due to injury after hitting .315 (34-for-108) with a .405 on-base percentage and 10 RBIs in 29 starts.  Then in 2025, Vossen hit .197 (12-for-61) with 13 runs scored, 11 stolen bases and four sacrifice hits.

Before that, the outfielder spent the 2022 season (49 games, 48 starts) at Utah Valley University (BIO) of D1's Western Athletic Conference (WAC).  Vossen hit .257 (44-for-171) as a member of the Wolverines with a team-leading four triples, which tied-for-fifth in the WAC.  That output joined 27 runs, six doubles, two home runs, 19 driven in, 17 walks, and 10 swiped bags.

The 5-9 Bishop Manogue product began his collegiate playing career at the Big 10's University of Iowa (BIO) in 2020 (four games, one start) and 2021 (11 games, two starts).

During his prep career at Bishop Manogue Catholic High School in Reno, Vossen was Prep Baseball Report first-team all-state, first-team all-region, and a Northern Nevada All-Star as a senior after hitting .457 with 50 runs, 59 hits, 30 RBIs, and nine triples… had a .503 on-base percentage, 19 steals, .682 slugging percentage, and a 1.186 OPS … finished with five doubles and two home runs … also was a Northern Nevada All-Star as a sophomore and junior … has the single season school records in steals, runs, and is tied-for-first in hits ... helped his high school team win the Regional title during his junior year as well as earn a trip to State both his junior and senior seasons … Honor Roll throughout high school … also earned all-conference honors in football as a junior.
