Rob Latva joined the Wayne State University Mort Harris Recreation and Fitness Center staff in December of 2013 as Assistant Director for Facilities & Finance and served in that capacity for over three years. He was promoted to Associate Athletics Director for the MHRFC in March of 2017 and begins his ninth year in that capacity in the fall of 2025.
He completed a bachelor’s degree in History and Physical Education at Central Michigan University, and earned a master’s degree in Sport and Recreation Administration at Bowling Green State University.
Latva has been working in campus recreation as a student and professional for 18 years in a variety of areas including intramural sports, club sports, facility management and finance management.
He was born and raised in Lowell, Mich., where he played football and hockey.
A huge Detroit sports fan, he always loves talking about the Lions, Tigers, Red Wings and Pistons! As a born and raised Michigander, he loves touring our state.
