Sharmilla Sands will begin her 24th year as a program specialist at the Mort Harris Recreation and Fitness Center in the fall of 2026, after spending the prior six years in a variety of positions on the Wayne State Campus with Office Services, C&IT and Business Operations.

The Grove Hill, Alabama native, and her husband Willis, are the proud parents of Adrean and Christian.
