Wayne State University alumnus Steve Booth has spent the last three academic years (2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25) as an assistant coach with the men's golf program giving him 16 seasons on the staff at WSU.
The head golf coach at Oakland Community College for eight years, Booth led the squad to consecutive conference championships and was named the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) Coach of the Year in 2007. For four years, OCC ranked in the top-15 nationally.
Booth had players qualify for the national championships in seven of his eight years at Oakland Community College. His team qualified for the national championships in 2008, finishing ninth.
Originally from Dearborn, Booth graduated from Riverside High School in 1981 before earning an associate's degree in law enforcement administration from Henry Ford Community College in 1984. He completed his education at WSU in 1988 with a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice.
