Whitney Irmeger joined the Wayne State University Mort Harris Recreation & Fitness Center staff as the Supervisor of Intramurals and Club Sports in the summer of 2023.
Irmeger came to WSUÂ after one season as the head coach of the Ottawa University Arizona (OUAZ) STUNT team, the first in program history.
Prior to OUAZ, she was a graduate assistant for the Concordia-Ann Arbor cheer and dance programs for two years. At CUAA, Irmeger worked closely with the STUNT and competitive NAIA coed teams while assisting with recruiting. During her time on the staff, Concordia won a pair of Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Championships.
A decorated student-athlete during her time on the Concordia-Ann Arbor cheer team, Irmeger won an NAIA National Championship (2019) and three WHAC championships, while twice being named First Team All-WHAC (2019-20). She was a two-time selection to the All-Academic Team and received both the WHAC Champion of Character and NAIA Champion of Character awards as a senior.
Irmeger majored in Sports and Entertainment Business with a minor in Coaching from CUAA. She then earned her master's in Communications and Public Relations from Concordia as well.
