Wayne State senior linebacker Valorian Cunningham totaled a team-high 12 tackles (next best player recorded six) with six solo stops and six assisted tackles. Cunningham had a half-sack late in the fourth quarter with WSU holding a 31-20 lead. On Findlay's final drive, Cunningham forced a fumble which sealed the win. He also played well early in the game blocking a 23-yard UF field goal attempt on the Oilers first drive of the game.  He was also named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts.
