The Wayne State University women's fencing squad concluded its fall season by having individuals win all three weapon titles at the 2016 Istvan Danosi Open held on Sunday at the Mort Harris Recreation and Fitness Center on the WSU campus.

Sophomore Pati Palczynska (Konstancin-Jeziorna, Poland) went 11-0 during the competition to win the sabre title out of nine competitors.  Palczynska compiled an 8-0 mark in pool play and was +34 (40-6) in touches.  In direct elimination, she defeated Detroit's Savannah Lee, 15-8, in the quarterfinals, before upending teammate Zuzanna Sobczak (Gdansk, Poland) 15-9 in the semifinals.  Palczynska defeated another teammate, Despina Tsitlakidou (Troy, Mich. / Birmingham Seaholm) 15-4 in the gold medal bout.
