Lyndsay Butler (Cambridge, Ont.) helped the softball team advance to the NCAA Super Regional this past weekend.  She doubled and scored the only run in the 1-0 win over Truman State, while tossing a two-hit shutout; no-hit UMSL facing just 21 batters on Friday (two reached on errors but both were erased on double plays); lost 1-0 to UMSL on an unearned run; earned the save in the "if necessary game" by entering with two runners on and a 7-4 lead.  After a single and a WSU error made it 7-5, UMSL had the bases loaded and no outs, but a force out at home (1-2) and a 1-2-3 game-ending double play started by Butler sealed the comeback win. WSU trailed 4-1 going to the bottom of the sixth, before Butler came up with a 4-4 score, bases loaded and two outs and tripled over the UMSL right fielder to make it 7-4.
