Senior Joao Martimbianco Ribeiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil) was one of several bright spots for the men's swimming & diving program at the Denison Invitational.
On Thursday, he was part of the 200 free relay quartet that earned a B-cut time of 1:20.71 in finishing third. Ribeiro placed second in the 200 IM with a B-Cut time of 1:47.97 (1:47.93 prelims). The 400 medley relay earned 60 points by placing third. The quartet consisted of Mueller, Ahmed, Ribeiro and Katulski.
Ribeiro earned a B-cut time in both the 400 IM preliminaries (fourth place; 3:55.57) on Friday and was on the 800 free relay quartet that placed third with a time of 6:41.10.
On Saturday, he won won the 200 breast in a B-cut time of 1:57.62, which also eclipsed the pool record by over 1.8 seconds.
