Sophomore Ava Peters (Livonia, Mich. / Franklin) won Wayne State women's cross country's first event of the 2026 season on Saturday afternoon, the Tommy T vs. W The Warrior Classic at Cass Benton Park in Northville, Mich. Peters claimed the top spot among a 72-runner field and did so with a time of 18:43.50 for the 5K event. The second-year Warrior helped lead the Green and Gold to the team victory as she was one of four WSU runners to place among the top five.
