Wayne State University Director of Athletics Rob Fournier announced today that the Warrior head football coach Steve Kazor will not return for the 2004 season.
In the recently concluded 2003 campaign, WSU had a 3-8 overall record and tied-for-11th in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a 2-8 mark.
Steve Kazor compiled a 13-29 overall record (.310 winning percentage) in four seasons at Wayne State including a 12-27 mark in league games.
In 2002, Wayne State had a 3-8 record and finished tied-for-ninth in the league with a 3-7 mark.
The previous season WSU had a 3-7 overall mark and finished tied-for-seventh in the conference with a 3-6 record.
The Warriors went 4-6, both overall and in the GLIAC, in his initial campaign in 2000 to finish in an eighth-place tie.
Wayne State will begin the search for a new head football coach immediately.
